Itinerary

Day 1Arrival

arrival at Kilimanjaro airport, transfer to the lodge (half board)

Preparation and briefing for the safari.

Day 2Ngorongoro Crater

The Ngorongoro Conservation Area has an 8288 km 2, the crater 260 km 2 with a diameter of 20 km. It is a unique place, which was created to protect wildlife and the Maasai people coexist leaving this territory. Prefer to see animals: rhinoceros, buffalo, Thomson gazelle, stock market gazelles, lions, elephants, hippos, flamingos.

Day 3 & 4Serengeti

 Go on a Serengeti Safari and experience a sense of emotional space.  Serengeti comes from “Siringit the Masai word meaning” the place where the land stretches to infinity “and refers to the grassy plains which make up about a third of the park. It is these meadows and savannas that ensure  that the region is filled with games.
 There are animals here at any time of the year, but from May to October the area is teeming with life, including wildebeest, zebra, impala, warthog, topi, gazelles and  hyenas.
 The lion, leopard, cheetah, and caracal may be easier to spot in the Kopjes, the granite inselbergs scattered across the landscape.
 The Serengeti is well known for gum migration, each year two million animals move clockwise around this 14,763 km2 ecosystem in search of pasture and water.
 
 Predators follow wildebeest and zebra closely and a Serengeti Safari is the perfect opportunity to see lions and other big cats.

Day 5transfer to Lake Victoria

Today your Guide will Drive to lake Victoria where you will see how wide the lake is and its mysteries.

Day 6 - 8transfer to Lake Victoria

 Visit the wasukuma tribe which is located next to the Lake and do all the activities with the peoples of other times sleeping at home:

 Ukerewe Island from Lake Victoria
 Ukerewe Island, located in the Tanzanian part of the lake, is the largest island in Lake Victoria with an area of ​​530 km².  It is easily connected by ferry from Mwanza, the second largest city in the country.
 Ukerewe is known to be the refuge of African albinos who are sometimes persecuted for their difference.  Surrounded by water, they feel safe there.
 The island is very pleasant and offers several points of view on Lake Victoria and its islands.  The Rutare hill and the Halwego viewpoint (the highest point of the island) are perfect spots to observe the city but also the many fishing boats that work on the clear waters of the lake.  At sunset, everything is adorned with an orange tint and announces the arrival of the long-awaited freshness.

 Lake Tanganyika, or Tanganika is one of the Great Lakes of Africa, the second African lake by surface after Lake Victoria, the third in the world by volume after the Caspian Sea and Lake Baikal, the second in the world by  depth after Lake Baikal, and the longest freshwater lake in the world (677 km).  It contains 18% of the world’s volume of free surface freshwater.  Despite oligotrophic characteristics, the lake is paradoxically very productive in fish (200,000 t / year).  Pelagic catches mainly concern two species of sardines: Stolothrissa tanganicae and Limnothrissa miodon, and one species of perch: Lates stappersii.  The abundance of these species fluctuates according to environmental conditions linked in particular to the existence of internal waves in the lake.
 
 Its waters join the Congo Basin, via the Lukuga River, then the Atlantic Ocean.  It is estimated that its formation dates back to around 20 million years ago (Miocene).
 
 
 Geography
 
 Lake Tanganyika covers an area of ​​32,900 km2 (approximately the same area as Belgium) and stretches 677 km along the border of Tanzania (to the east) and the Democratic Republic of the Congo (to the  ‘Where is) ;  its northern end separates these two countries from Burundi, its southern end separates them from Zambia.  To the west (on the Congolese side), we find the Mitumba mountains.
 
 It is located on the western branch of the Great Rift Valley.  Its surface temperature is 25 ° C on average for a pH varying from 7.6 in marshy bays to 9.5 in open water.  The depth as well as the tropical location of the lake prevent the total renewal of the water masses and most of the deep waters are fossil and anoxic waters.
 
 Lake Tanganyika is now part of the Congo River hydraulic basin.  It flows into it through its emissary, the Lukuga.  Until 1878, this river flowed into the lake, but tectonic movements, and especially the rise in the water level, reversed its direction towards the Lualaba and the Congo river.
 
 The drainage basin of Lake Tanganyika covers an area of ​​250,000 km2.
