What to Expect

Tanzania  is the untamed half of east Africa, the raw safari experience that first drew explorers from around the world, home to endless savannah, volcanic mountains, the Great Migration and the towering walls of the Ngorongoro Crater.

A few hours away is mighty Mount Kilimanjaro itself, where adventure seekers can hike through a series of wildly different landscapes in a bid to reach the pinnacle of Africa, accompanied by a full complement of hardy porters and experienced guides. Although the mountain can be summited without having to do any serious climbing, it is still to be respected. Though the summit of Kilimanjaro lies among the clouds, those wanting to stand upon the mountain need not climb to the very top, as special excursions cater for short hikes and picnic lunches on its slopes.

Creating yet another rugged and scenic landscape nearby, the Rift Valley plunges down to the shores of tranquil Lake Manyara in a series of steep cliffs. Shallow and fed by the runoff from the high escarpment along its side, Manyara is home to great multitudes of pink-feathered flamingo throughout the year. The verdant national park that lies along its shores is famed for high concentrations of wildlife, including its unusual tree-climbing lion.

Day 0Depart Arusha – Tarangire National Park

On this day, you will depart Arusha, Tanzania’s base town for safaris in northern Tanzania, for a scenic journey to Tarangire National Park along the Arusha – Dodoma thruway. You will travel through a magnificent Masai Steppe and arrive in Tarangire in 2 hours or somewhere in the neighborhood after passing by a store (if you desire) for some really late purchasing of any items that you may desire. Your driver will take care of the paperwork at the leisure center’s entrance before taking you on your first game drive in Tarangire National Park, which is known for its large herds of elephants and massive baobab trees that dot the plains.

Day 1Tarangire National Park to the Serengeti National Park.

After breakfast, we depart Tarangire National Park and go through the Great Rift Valley’s bottom, up the ledge, and into Ngorongoro Conservation area in what will eventually turn out to be a delightful and delightful grand drive as you take in the great views and magnificent panoramas on our journey to the Serengeti National Park. Arrive at the Serengeti early in the evening for an evening wildlife drive till late in the evening, when you’ll check into a camp or cabin for a pit fire, supper, and sleep. Lunch will be served at one of the picnic spots, most likely near the Naabi Hill Gate, where you will also get the opportunity to stretch your legs.

Day 2Entire day at the Serengeti National Park.

You can get up early on this day to go on a dawn game drive in search of the rare midnight creature species, just as the morning folks do among the diurnal ones. Most game prefer to congregate around street edges to avoid the morning dew, therefore it’s a good idea to consider wildlife to be in close proximity. Following breakfast at your tent, you will spend the rest of the day in the Serengeti National Park, going on game drives. Apart from the wildebeests, you might see elephants, lions, cheetahs, the slippery panthers, zebras, elands, and a plethora of occupant and transitory birds.

Day 3Serengeti National Park – Ngorongoro Crater.

We look at and set out for one more wildlife drive in the Serengeti after breakfast at your camp/or hotel. Your skilled safari guide will bring you to the Seronera River Valley, which is rich in wild life and bird life, or somewhere in the Serengeti. Your safari guide will, as is customary, maintain constant touch with various aides around him using the VHF high-recurrence radios installed in our safari vehicles, allowing him to have a better idea of the finest spots to examine. You’ll return to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area in the early evening and settle into a hut for supper and sleep.

Day 5 Ngorongoro Crater – back to Arusha – End of safari

Following breakfast at your accommodation, you will depart on schedule for game drives in the Ngorongoro Crater. The earlier you go to the Crater floor, the higher your chances of witnessing rare wildlife like Black Rhinos. Until noon, spend the best part of the early morning touring the Ngorongoro Crater. With its 600 to 650 meter high dividers, Ngorongoro Crater resembles a typical zoo with the most significant gathering of wild species, and it is here that you may even spot the Big Five in a single day if you are lucky. After  lunch which you will doubtlessly take at the hippo poolside assigned outing site, you will drive up the Crater edge and out of the Conservation region. You will get back to Arusha where you will show up later in the early evening.
